CULTURAL STAY ON SEVERAL DAYS
DISCOVERY OF GEORGE SAND COUNTRY
George Sand, the novelist, the leader of Romanticism in literature, will be your guide during your stay in her « blue valley which becomes black in stormy weather ». An opportunity to immerse yourself in the pleasantness of the environment, source of inspiration for her rustic novels.

On the agenda
Day 1
10:00am Guided tour of George Sand’s house in Nohant, the park, and the puppets of her son, Maurice Sand. Throughout her life, Nohant was her refuge, her favourite place for inspiration and creation where she welcomed the greatest romantic artists (Chopin, Liszt, Delacroix, Tourgueniev...). 12:30pm LUNCH
3:00pm Guided tour of the Basilica of Neuvy-Saint-Sépulcre built in the 11th and 12th centuries, on the model of the Holy Sepulchre Church in Jerusalem. Going past the medieval castle of Sarzay.
5:00pm Guided tour of the Angibault Mill, which is still working, of its mechanism which has been restored and of the exhibition "From wheat to bread". The country site inspired George Sand for her novel "The Miller of Angibault ".
. DINNER and NIGHT at the hotel.

Day 2
10am : Arrival at Gargilesse, one of the most beautiful villages of France. Guided tour of the Villa Algira, a small peasants’ house used as a refuge by George Sand. Then, guided tour of the 12th century church where there are magnificent romanesque frescoes in the crypt.
12:15pm : LUNCH
3:15pm : Guided tour of both the village of Lys-Saint-Georges and the inside of a restored interior from Berry which dates back to the beginning of the past century. A stop at The Devil’s pool.
5:00pm : End of the visit.
